Recreational (Rec) Gymnastics
Recreational gymnastics is a non-competitive, fun-focused branch of gymnastics that allows individuals of all ages and skill levels to learn and enjoy the basics of the sport. It emphasizes foundational gymnastics skills such as balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination, while also focusing on personal development, physical fitness, and building self-confidence.
Unlike competitive gymnastics, recreational gymnastics does not involve scoring or competitions. Instead, participants work on a variety of skills across different apparatus, such as the vault, bars, beam, floor, and even trampoline. Classes are typically structured in a way that supports progressive skill development at each participant’s pace, with goals to achieve new skills and improve physical abilities over time.
Recreational gymnastics is ideal for those looking to enjoy the benefits of gymnastics in a relaxed and supportive environment. It’s also a great introduction to the sport, allowing participants to explore gymnastics as a foundation for other athletic pursuits, or simply as a fun and active hobby.
